Parked at the end of the wrong side road I wanted but very close to another destination. Now a new spot. Looked at the rocky prominences' and low cliffs, decided on a route. Didn't look hard. Ha! Took off to the Alice in Wonderland spots. Walk along, scramble, 5 foot pour off. No problem. Then a 25 foot pour off. Problem, work around. It was just amazing to look through a break in a cliff face and see the bottom so far below. The faults ran one way, I was going across them and that was not going to work. I was pretty careful not to climb down in something I could not get out of.
So low mileage but a ton of scrambling, the tufa type rock rough and great traction. Some pools of water, some traces of illegal passage. Some really neat spots, solitude, at times I was in a maze of cracks, then break out to the low cliffs around me. On top great views. Would be a great area after more storms. Will be back.
