I could tag this to a trail but since I wasn't on a trail most of the time and the middle part of the trail looks to be destroyed/ washed away I won't.
A lot of water. Many little waterfalls. Lots of debris from the burn. At one point a "boulder bomb" area where Post and Grant Creek come together. Large scoured areas. Sections of trail for about a hundred feet, then you couldn't even find the continuation. Some quads trying to get up FR 157, bow hunters. Not getting too far, it's a bit of a boulder crawl even at the first crossing of the creek. I stayed in the creek bed or followed parts of the pipeline on the opposite side of the creek just exploring. Feet wet, not an option right now to keep them dry. I was wearing the boots I had glued the sole back on that failed in the Sierra Ancha and surprisingly that shoe goo, gorilla glue combo held up.
Then out and drive around to up on the Blue Jay Ridge to camp at one of my top five car camp sites for views ever. Lots of wildflowers, again a few bow hunters about. Walked the road and off to get the flower shots. Did stop at the fire look out and take that short walk since I had driven up. Road steep and rough and I did put the Jeep in 4-high for the last section on the climb. Amazing the Sulphur Springs Valley lights at night. Another TH got my attention but not for this trip. Some photos at the badlands, and a crazy huge spread of yellow belly flowers off the Tripp Canyon road that I would think you would see in spring. Took another way out, FR 351 crossing Two Trough canyon and connecting to the dirt hwy of Klondyke road. Pretty rough in sections but some great views, and crossing the canyon bottom interesting with the bumps of silt from recent run off. No 4wd though, need clearance however.
Another great weekend. May have to return next Sun to try and get to the waterfall to see what the flood run off damage has done, or not.
