| no partners | | Did get out of bed and head on down. A couple of dips in the road pretty deep water wise, glad the vehicle is lifted. Parked, walked, the area so jungle like and with so many spiders, caterpillars, frogs and grasshoppers it was incredible. Lush life. Water flowing, again quite a bit for this area. The water flow was not as much as I expected over the dams but the cenote like formation was full, and had fish as long as 6 inches swimming in there. My photos do it no justice, it is least as large as 3 inground backyard swimming pools of good size, and looks very deep.
I was looking for an old grown over road to make a loop. As I walked on down the canyon it started to open up and I saw some very happy cows for the grass. I looked up and saw a glimpse of an old road bed buildup. I was not sure this was what I had seen but started up it, actually until the top quite doable with a 4wd quad. Then it was washed out and blocked with boulders. I now had a road walk back but it was good. Another canyon on the other side of the road with running water caught my attention, and some mine tailings. Decided to check it out. Some promising mine portals on the other side of the hill not visible from the road. Since I did not have my good lights with me will have to come back, gosh darn it.
Back to the car, the clouds building. Didn't look as good a storm potential as Sat but still nice to see. Uneventful drive home and another great day thrashing through waist to shoulder high vegetation and not getting eaten by too many chiggers. |
