So, Saturday on the Naegelin Rim, colors spotty but the canyon hike nice. A few isolated vivid reds and orange, mostly the yellow and gold.
Sat nite in a view campsite. Sunday back down toward the Sierra Ancha, nothing much along Workman Creek unless pretty far up. A little water over the falls.
Then, I parked and hiked along another spot that just seized the moment. I didn't even carry a pack, fortunately wore a raincoat and had the camera. As usual, a shangri la hike for sure. Wonderful waterfalls, great forest, some color, and no one. I had rain, hail, thunder , lightning, rain with sunlight, no rain, all of it. I managed to fall into two small waterfalls trying to get photos but saved the camera both times! After a very short distance it was going to be cliff climbing to get downstream so gave that up. What an awesome place and totally unexpected. The best kind of gift IMO when hiking and just exploring. Some of the pics are blurry due to the fact I had rain drops on the lens a lot of the time. |
