| no partners | | This was a really neat hike -- after doing it I remembered how much better and more diverse that hiking in Tucson is as compared to hiking in Phoenix. If I had not known better, I would have thought that I was in East Tennessee or Western North Carolina on part of the hike.
We did the loop counterclockwise, which I think is the best way to do it. Doing it this way, you get to enjoy the views on the Mount Lemmon Trail #5. There are some cool rock formations on the Wilderness of Rocks Trail, and we took an off trail diversion to the Lemmon Pool, which was the highlight of the hike. There was lots of water in the pool, although the flow coming out of the waterfall was a bit light. The hike up the Lemmon Rock Trail was steep and was a butt kicker, but I'd rather go up than go down a steep trail like that. |
