| no partners | | Arrived at road to Fossil Creek near Camp Verde to a closed road sign. "Sorry folks, park's closed. The moose out front should have told you." Just like that our weekend plan of Fossil Creek and Verde Hot Springs were both shut down. Luckily, Bull Pen is not far away and we made our way just a few miles down the road toward our new destination. We set up camp in the desert setting outside the Bull Pen area and then headed towards the TH for our hike. We found a good cliff jumping spot, checked the water depth and made a few leaps. We worked our way back about 3 miles in before turning around since it would be getting dark soon. Mostly desert type scenery along the trail. Veering off trail from time to time is a good way to take in some extra creek views. |
