After all the rain, I figured there would be a lot of water in the creeks out in the Supes and fantastic weather, so I figured I would do a loop including a bigger creek. Started at first water TH just after sunrise. The hike to Garden Valley always gets me excited because I anticipate what the area will look like. Everything was wet, but not as green as I had hoped for. Anyway, I made it down to Boulder Creek in just over one hour and started my way up the creek. Surprisingly, there was not too much water in the creek. A few pools here in there but nothing to write home about. About a mile or so up, I was just strolling along minding my business when I got about 1 inch from walking into the biggest, nastiest spiderweb I have ever seen, with right in the middle of it the biggest, nastiest spider I have ever seen! A real spooky October dude. I had never been up the Cavalry trail before, and it was a pretty decent ascent. As soon as I got into the Marsh Valley area, the trail disappeared a bit and I had to really look for signs of trail. Upon this search I came across a real nice camp site that is pretty hidden from the trail. Eventually I got back on track and up and out of the valley. Took the BullPass short cut and back to the Dutchman. The hike up to Parker's Pass and to the First Water TH was uneventful, but I did finally see some other people out there enjoying the wonderful weather. Great to be back in the Superstitions!
