Backlogging some trips from the past few months. Spent some time in the Catalinas to beat the heat in Phoenix. Had not been in this area too much so it was a great change. This was a great loop and felt very secluded most of the time. Started at the radio towers and headed west on the Mt Lemmon trail. The very gentle, steady decline winds its way down through some pretty thick forests and then down to some cool rock formations. The views up here were fantastic. Once you get down towards the floor of the WOR valley there were several springs and small streams across the trail. I probably took the most difficult route, but I made my way down to the Lemmon Pools and ate some lunch. This was a cool, creepy, little area. The rest of the WOR hike was pretty flat and easy going. I heard water flowing the whole way up to the saddle. The last part of the hike was obviously the toughest part climbing about 2k feet back up to the top. Wanting to get some elevation training in for an upcoming Humphrey's hike, this was definitely a good warm up.
