| no partners | | Slipped away from First Water about 8AM on Friday for a counter clockwise loop. Saw only a couple of folks on the trail. Only saw two people after I turned off on Cavalry. Set up in the same awesome spot as last month. Didn't look like anyone had been there. This site is off trail just enough to make it easy to miss, and there are two other spots on the other side of the trail that are easy to see, and likely get more visitors. After setup I headed back towards the Dutchman and down to Charlebois. Lots of water in that stretch and a bunch of nice campsites. This little side trip also gave me the chance to wear my Zero shoes for awhile.
The campsite beach was a nice spot to relax and listen to the flowing water. On the way out Saturday I was heading down Cavalry when a Sheriff's chopper came through the valley flying really low, sort of slowed down over me, then sped off. I think they were looking for someone maybe... |
