Joined artist-in-residence-with-a-mini-excavator Rob, an outstanding AZCC crew and fellow AZT Volunteer Roger for a couple cool days and one very cold night working on a 2.8-mile reroute of Passage 2. The old route is on ugly two-track road; the new route winds and rolls through the oak and juniper trees. The Conservation Corp is doing great work and the machine makes things go soooo much faster. It's pretty hard to think about using pick mattocks to build trail when this thing makes 1000+ ft per day, and one person behind it can keep up finishing the trail.
