While working behind the mini-excavator as it makes new single-track, I scout ahead for the flagging we placed last May. I noticed a lightning scar on a tree, then another, and another, all in a single copse of pines. See photo set. The strikes occurred over many years judging by the healing going on. There were more scars on nearby trees.

Maybe not a good location in a storm.
