I don't get out with these two enough. Always a good time.

We ran into a Hazer(Nick) 8) in the parking lot and then started off on the Barnhardt trail. It was in great shape. Next up was the Mazatzal Divide Trail. It was in good shape with a couple trees down. The last time I was on here we were doing the AZT and there were trees down Everywhere! It was fun to reminisce about our AZT hikes. From there Bruce took us down Canyon to see the bottom of the falls. This was a pretty cool area. It is worth it! I'm slow at this off trail stuff but Bruce and Joe never seem to age :o . Next was a short but steep climb out and we were at the big falls in no time. They were flowing good. It made my first time being here Awesome! We meet four backpackers here that would be setting up camp. The one guy let us know how much he liked and used HAZ. After Joe shook hands and gave out autographs we took lunch overlooking the falls. On the list of top lunch spots for sure! From there it was off to hit the "Rock Creek trail". Route Scout really helped here. It was a Manzanita jungle and I struggled here too. The 3 footers were bad then the four footers were kicking my butt. Once over the hill a trail starts showing itself. From there the pace picked up a little. Rock Creek Falls was flowing pretty good as well. When we bottomed out Bruce got water and I changed out socks and we were ready for Half Moon Trail. The last time on this one the whole group shed some blood and tears. We would wind up doing half this one in the dark. Joe kept us on trail and with Chumley's trimming this trail wasn't "half" :) bad . Probably pretty good in the daylight. The big moon was fitting for this section and a nice way to finish. Might have finished in daylight without the off trail and Manzanita bushwack but it was worth it, in my opinion :y: . Thanks for the great hike gentlemen, like HAZ, :yr:
