Basically I took the Table Mesa Rd exit from I17, then instead of going north on the access road, I turned up a rough dirt road, just west of the access road. It goes north for a short distance to a tower, then heads south for awhile, then heads west across the gas line scar and eventually reaches the BCT. That's where I parked.
I walked south to the north side of the Boy Scout Loop, then turned back. I did leave the trail to find a geocache that was near the top of a hill.
The Staghorn Cholla have a lot of new growth, and the Hedge Hog cactus are all in bloom. There were some other flowers, but not much; things are starting to dry out. I did see one poppy. |
