Random wandering on and off the trail.
Just a few hundred yards from the end, right about when Tracey was thinking "thank goodness, no rattlers today!" wouldn't you know it, that's when we encountered a VERY noisy young rattlesnake. No big deal, we just walked on by.
It seemed a bigger deal to the snake as it was still rattling away when we were no longer in hearing range.
