| partners | | Tracey wasn't about to accompany me when I did a lasso loop out here in mid-July of 2017 when it hit 105°. But with an anticipated high a full 35° LESS, I figured this would be the perfect time for bringing Tracey along. We made just one adjustment... flip-flopping the lasso loop so we wouldn't have to fight/drive through all the ATV's/4x4's to where I began the hike in 2017.
So, this time we started from the ATV parking area just west of AZ 87, headed south on an as yet unauthorized ATV/4x4 trail until the first intersection, which is where the beginning of our loop part began. We turned right to avoid the oncoming ATV/4x4 traffic approaching from our left.
Thankfully we were just fast enough we were already onto an old pack trail before they reached us. By doing so, we would hike the loop counter-clockwise.
I tried numerous times along the way to get just the right photo of Four Peaks to the east as well as Sycamore Creek to the west but for some reason my camera was acting weird and the photos seemed either washed out or too dark. I deleted most of them, only posting the least-bad of the batch. |
