It was time to get back on the trails after the hot summer. Headed up the freeway to Dove Valley road and the Apache Wash Trailhead. At shortly before 7am it was fairly busy. My plan was to take the Apache Wash Trail to the Esplanade and go along it until an hour was up then head back. It was a beautiful morning with a gorgeous blue sky overhead. I had a lot of bike riders for company with the occasional hiker/runner. Even came across someone out painting. Made it to a half mile up the Esplanade when it was time to turn back. Great way to kick off the fall hiking season for me.
