Headed out to the Apache Wash Trailhead to enjoy some of this spring in January weather. My plan was to take the Apache Wash Trail to the Esplanade Trail and take it for a little bit before turning back. Got underway about 2pm under a beautiful blue sky. It was warm to begin with but seemed to get more comfortable as the afternoon went on. The clear conditions afforded great views of the mountains in the distance. The hikers and bike riders were infrequent which made for a nice sense of solitude. I got to the Esplanade Trail and took it to the half mile sign, I went past it to the next cactus by the trail and made that my turn around point. Another enjoyable afternoon in the Sonoran Preserve!
