| no partners | | I had to take advantage of the warmer weather today and get a hike in before it turns colder next week. I went up to the lower tower first, then wrapped around to the ridge and headed up to the higher towers. It was quite windy as I got higher, so I was glad I chose the pants and long sleeves option. Went around to the back side and scrambled up the chute, which takes some precaution as it is quite steep and slick with a lot of loose rock. The views are great up there, but it was windy, so I didn't stick around as long as I would have liked to. Back to the ridge and the road, where I did the last bit again to get in some additional aeg.
I don't like the descent on this as the road is slick, but I stick to the edges where it is softer. The steepest section basically has small sand dunes where the road was cut in, which was fun and I was thankful for. Some options for wandering south from the ridge or going off road part way up and towards the other ridge/peak in close proximity to the towers. |
