| no partners | | I went looking for a reasonable workout hike in my area. Most anything you'd want to climb around here is off-trail. But sometimes I just want a quick workout on a steep trail. The closest steep trails to where I'm staying are over by Kingman in the Hualapais, about an hour's drive, and also kind of chilly a lot of the time in winter. So, anyway, I spotted this radio tower road near Oatman, last year when I hiked up Mount Nutt.
Anyway, this will do for the time being. There are several old roads leading uphill off of this one, so I can vary the hike. It's quite a bit closer than the Hualapais.
There seems to be a Grand Canyon "Gems" hike in my future (the last week in March), and I'd like to be in shape for it. I've been going mountain biking quite a bit, but it's just not the same kind of exercise. |
