Finally got out to do a quick backpacking trip in the Supes. Arrived later then what I wanted to at Peralta and the lot was full. Parked at the backup lot and started up cardiac hill. Headed down into Barks where water was everywhere! Ran into a women near the Terrapin intersection who was looking for the Lone Pine at Peralta and this was the way All Trails told her to go. When will they learn. ](*,) A bit on the warmer side Saturday so I didn't mind walking through the pools. Arrived at the Bluff Spring area around 1:30 and to my surprise the campsite right near the Dutchman intersection which is fully shaded was open. We started to setup camp and literally 10 minutes later a Boy Scout troop came through and were looking to camp at the site we had just gotten to. Headed over to Bluff Spring; it's been at least a year since I've been to the actual spring but it appears the pipe is separated and you head up a bit in the brush for water now. There was still a decent flow but the creek was flowing pretty good so ended up filtering water there. Saw a couple other hikers and backpackers but it was not as busy as I expected. Weather was just a bit chilly (mid 40's) at night but not to bad at all but was made worse with my sleeping pad that decided to leak during the middle of the night. Packed up camp around 9:30 Sunday morning and headed out on the Dutchman to complete the loop. Found a couple camping at the top of the ridge at Miners Summit and came across tons of water along the way dwn and at the Barks crossing. Another great weekend in my favorite wilderness.
