| no partners | | Opted for a workout loop with a little bit of everything--flat trails for some speed, steep ascent and descent, and a fun scramble in the middle.
Started from Warpaint and made my way to Desert Classic and then east for a couple of miles. I noticed lots of new Do Not Climb signs along Desert Classic on the north side of the Equestrian neighborhood. Either the locals on Kachina complained about climbers parking on their street, or the park is continuing their eager efforts to block off as much of the preserve as possible. I have a strong suspicion that someone from the city closely monitors social media and hiking/climbing sites looking for pics, posts, hashtags, etc of offtrail activity in the city preserves.
Headed up Young Man, which had some shade but no breeze. Once at Guadalupe Ridge, which had no shade but a nice breeze, I headed west. The ridge is the best part of any SoMo hike on the east end. Dropped down to National at the end of the ridge and continued west. Based on the magnets stuck to the trail posts, the National Trail Trek is this weekend? Came down Corona and made my way back over to Warpaint, finishing up right around noon. |

Wildflowers Observation None Nothing yet, but it looks like there will be a lot of brittlebush in a few weeks. Noticed some globemallow growing too. |
