| no partners | | I attempted to reach the actual “trailhead” on the north side of mountain via Agua Caliente Rd. I found the “road” so rutted out in a few spots, for even my 4x4 Chevy Colorado, that I decided to start hike from a little to the west of turn off for trailhead. (See Route). It was probably doable. But being alone and not wanting to take a chance, I went as far as I felt comfortable.
It turned out to be a fun hike. Better than I had anticipated. I saw a small herd of mule deer in the first 5 minutes. They were gone before I could snap any pics. Also saw big horn sheep near top. But too far away for my iPhone . And I saw a pair of Peregrine Falcons swirling near the east end of summit where I presume they were nesting. But too quick for my photography skills. All in all its a worthy little mountain to climb.
I filmed an hours worth of timelapse footage that I posted on YouTube link: [ youtube video ] |
