Tough, tough hike up to an extremely prominent landmark. Drive in absolutely requires high clearance 4WD, else don't even think about it. There is really just a single characteristic that makes this hike so challenging -- rocks, rocks, and more rocks. And then there's the rocks. All well and good on the way up through fantastic scenery and incredible flora that includes Agave, an unusual Nolina, and a breathtaking Dudleya, but the hike down on tired legs takes just as much time and effort as the hike up. Quads were absolutely trashed by the time I made it back to the Jeep. In any case, if you have the vehicle, hike the hike! Well worth the body aches -- lol!
