Where Pine Canyon Trail crosses Pine Creek, I saw a couple fly fishing. They were having luck catching a bunch of small ones.
The Deep Pools Route up to the rim, currently has water flowing all the way to the rim. It's unlikely you will see another sole on this track. It's a bit slow going in places because of terrain and navigation. But this sure is a fun little route. The waterfall area is the payoff to the climb up to the rim after turning out of Pine Creek.
Up on the rim I had my lunch, with a view down to where I'd been. From here, some old forest roads to work my way over to the Pine Canyon Trail and down the"Switchbacks". I met the couple I'd seen fishing here on their way out.
This is a hike I'll do again. |
