| partners | | Low-key out-n-back that included one of my favorite stretches of trail along the east side of Lynx Lake. Plenty of Gambel Oak for Trail #305 to be in the Autumn mix if you enjoy oaks in foliage. #305 lacks distant views but you do get pines all the way, typically a bunch. Used mostly by mountain bikers the tread is typically a three-foot-wide ribbon of smooth. That said there were maybe ten mountain bikers all day.
Lynx Lake was fab as always. Perfect temps and breeze except for the final two miles. Which then featured nice deep blue skies with light scattered clouds.
Bruce parted ways near the end to experience a hike I published 20 years ago. Nice'a the turtle to pop outta hiding and join in. I look forward to you joining in on the next 5k aeg catclaw revenge hike! |
