Escaped the heat to Bartlett Lake with the kayaks. Never been to Bartlett before, and had relatively low expectations.

We dropped in from the Yellow Cliffs area. Once we crossed the busy channel, the water smoothed out and we explored up one of the “fingers,” where the water was calm and no boats and jet skis were present.

The water temps were great, and there are many more flat-ish, beach options than on the Salt River lakes.

Final assessment: exceeded expectations. Will be back.

The lake also provided an excellent—and sad—viewpoint for the billowing smoke from the Bush Fire. :(
