| no partners | | my boss mentioned doing this hike last week and I thot it's been awhile since I have so I put it back on my after work hike list as I kind of forgot about it. My last hike here was clear back in March 2016 and Nov 2012 before that, sheesh!
Lots of new construction on the turn toward Pinnacle Peak Park (condos?). The trail itself also has quite a few new things going on too, including a bench and lots of shoring up here and there. It's gotta be one of the best manicured and kept up trails in the valley. Per usual, it gets your heart rate up as you make your way up that east side. It was a bit nippy in the shade too.
There were quite a few people but not as many as would be on a weekend. I handled the up pretty well. Tibber also had a new pair of city-hike shoes (Salomon OUTline). They're very pretty but were a little tight in the middle so I am going to tie them differently to see if that helps. These are replacing my ten year old city-hiking shoes.
On the way back down after turning around at the 1 1/2 mile marker I spoke with another hiker. She was from Cave Creek. We exchanged info on trails as far as good city hikes that have a little elevation. I got behind on the last climb and I also stopped to take two pictures but then caught up with her again on the northeast side and we finished together. She was parked right next to me too.
I took some pictures of the new things I saw since I was last here. It was a beautifully clear day and I could see far into the distance. I still like this hike. |

Oh, and once in awhile, don't forget to look back at the trail you've traveled. |
