The weather was perfect with enough rain and breeze to keep it cool without making it cold or soaking my gear. There were ample camping opportunities near the top, I was surprised there wasn't trash everywhere considering how close and accessible it is. I had a snack and went looking for the summit, which I think I found, but the views are better from almost every other part of the trail. I saw a few mule deer while I was getting ready for bed. The moonlight was so intense, I didn't use my headlamp at all. The bugs kept the white noise at just the right level, had a great night, then headed out a little after dawn. All in all, this was a good trip only 45 minutes from home, so I'll probably do it again sometime. |
