| no partners | | Nancy and I hiked out and back midday on the South Fork Trail #97, about 5.5 miles total. Not much shade and plenty sun on half of the way in. Was raining with some hail and 20 degrees colder in that area on way back. We were soaked and cool returning to the car. Much of the forest in this area was destroyed by the 2011 fires and there is little reforestation since. A lot of pics struck my fancy. Beauty amid the devastation. Before the 2011 fires this was 100% forested trail. On the way home we stopped at Pole Knoll to dry out (Sun!) and had a stand up picnic! A good day. See photoset 7-28-2020. |
