| no partners | | I spent three days in the Blue Range with the pups over Memorial Weekend. I saved a lead on some glyphs off of the Little Colorado River and a first time trip to the South Fork Trail for our last morning out there.
I found the glyphs, although, it took me a few tries and I covered some unnecessary ground. I only found some severely weathered and faded glyphs at first, however, I then stumbled across a panel and a few other crisp glyphs that really caught the imagination and turned the site into quite the little find for me. In fact, I would not mind looking around some more in the future, as I kept my tour a little short this time around, due to having left the pups in the car (and due to burning 20 minutes looking in the wrong area).
The trailhead for the South Fork was only a few minutes down the road, so it was the perfect opportunity to finally see what the trail has to offer. We started from the Campground/northern end and only went a short distance in, but what little we hiked was superb. It was an excellent setting along the creek, which had a nice flow and the forest was in good shape for the portions of the trail we hiked to include some giant ponderosa. Excellent trail and tread. We turned around after just less than one mile in. |
