| no partners | | With Nancy and Oliver, hiked the Thompson Trail today from TH to the intersection with trail from Big Lake. Think it's also the point that Thompson creek becomes Black River West Fork. First time for all of us. It was gorgeous! Lots of water, wildflowers, healthy plants, and new trees. The trail is in excellent shape. Saw 6 other groups from start to finish. No one was there overnight although there are lovely campsites. No fires allowed at this time in the NF. Saw no one fishing. Drove from Pinetop 260 > 273 > FR116 to trailhead. Hiked about 3:45 including breaks and some side diversions. Clouds most all the time, some thunder. Very light rain in last 30 minutes. Perfect! |
