Did a thing here. I reserved a camping spot on Friday night and planned to hike the next morning. I wanted to sort of get away, but not commit to the entire weekend. It was a nice get away. Left work friday night loaded up and got to Usery at about 6pm. Set up camp, made dinner, enjoyed the full moon and went to sleep. Woke up Sat morning and headed over to Windcave for a hike.
Light traffic on the way up. Enjoyable. I did sit up at the top for a while, weather was perfect and the views are great from up there. On the way down, there was a lot of traffic headed up. The bottom 1/3 of the trail was packed. Even saw a park ranger out chatting with people. If I had started maybe 30 minutes earlier would have been just right. I hadn't done this trail in a while and its a good climb and well maintained.
