Walked .83 miles to the junction of Flume Trail on the left and unnamed trail on the right that goes South toward Carefree Hwy. Kai and I took this new trail for us that’s marked with large wire basket carins. While the trail is marked with about half dozen carins I zigged where I should have zagged and followed a neighborhood horse trail for about 150 feet before bushwhacking a short distance to get back on course. The area was more interesting than I Imagined because it’s close to Cave Creek (dry) so there’s enough water to support lots of vegetation.
It was fun to walk under Carefree Hwy, I’ll post a few pics. Came back the same way. |
