Judy and I had not been out to Spur Cross area for some time and I seen some recent pics showing water in the creeks. We did 6 rock hop crossings that were easy. While we had a 9:30 start it was still cold mostly from the wind. Out Spur Cross Trail NE and picked up Metate Trail on the way back. While looking for the man made small pond with a game camera I found the metate! Walked around it a few times look for the camera but no luck. Ranger Kevin posts pics of animals visiting the pond on FB.
