Felt the need for solitude/quiet time and I had a hunch that the rain forecast would scare many from Peralta. I knew I struck gold when I arrived to only a half-dozen cars at the TH. Saw only three people on the way up and arrived at lone pine at the same time as a ranger. We rapped for a few minutes and then he left to finish his patrol, leaving Meia and me to soak in the welcome sun and quiet. Couldn’t ask for a better setting of snow-capped mountain views and soft wind in the pine needles. Just what the doctor ordered.
Saw a tiny bit of snow left under the northern ledges. A little running water at the upper canyon but the ground is still thirsty below.
