| no partners | | I hadn't hit up The J of the C or SC recently. With the cooler temps, I was looking for something close, so this fit the bill. The parking lot at the J of the C was 1/2 full, a good sign for the whole SD thing. The weather was in the 60's to start.
J of the C is just starting it's autumnal thing and should get better over the coming weeks.
Dragonfly, to Spur Cross Trail, to the Elephant Mountain Trail, where I took a cool down break at the saddle.
Next up was the Limestone Trail. I ran into 2 groups of 2 on this section. The breeze simmered down here, so it got a little warm. The spring box at Limestone Spring has not held water for quite a few years now. I went to look for the source in the vegetation, but it was too thick for my liking.
Through the Cave Creek #4, to the Metate, to the Tortuga Trails I expected to run into more people. My neck gaiter got a work out as a face mask as 1/2 the the other hikers I passed did the same.
Back over in J of the C, I opted to hit the rest of the loop
Temps were good for the most part as long as the breeze kept up. I successfully negotiated the area, without being discovered by @LosDosSloFolks. Yea me! |
