| partners | | I messaged Angela because I needed to pick up a gift from her that she had purchased for Cathy. She suggested we meet half way and get in a short hike together. Looking for baby owlettes in the Sonoran Preserve North was the obvious choice. We had both visited these nests together and seperately on many occasions.
The first nest we located had Momma home, but she was keeping her babies on the down low and out of sight. We finally did see the top of one of the owlettes heads as we were leaving. Nest #2 had the mother still incubating her clutch of eggs. Both nests seem to be running a couple of weeks behind compared to previous years.
The Esplanade Trail was loaded with Wolfberry bushes and we sampled their fares throughout the hike. Some were sweet, others not so much. We washed them down with some of Angela's coveted Huckleberry Lager...good stuff! Thanks for the hike Angela, (Cathy says thanks for the brush!), and have a safe trip and a great time over in our 50th state. |

Wildflowers Observation Light Desert Senna was the star of the day. |
