| no partners | | This was a double hike, so I combined the miles of both days.
Yesterday I got off from work with time to get in a short hike.
The cows at the corral were very agitated because their calves have been taken away.
On the way back one of them tried to jump the corral fence.
I’ve never seen a cow go that far off the ground and then fall on its back.
At some point I laid my walking stick down and didn’t realize it until I was heading down into the canyon.
Very steep and slideey rocks.
CCC tank was empty and I came back up the small canyon. It was very wide in places and most of the loose rock has been washed down to the bedrock.
Things got sticky so I headed up out of the canyon.
AND
When I got to the top my stick was about 50 feet away!
BUT
Back at the truck I realized that I lost my knife.
This hurt because it was a gift from a dear friend about 20 years ago.
SO
Todays hike was retracing my hike yesterday.
AND
Success!
Three cheers for sunlight and a shiny blade.

I came back a different way that was more interesting and a lot steeper.
All in all it was a good hike…. Both of them. |
