| no partners | | I like this area but have just about hiked it out.
There are two more things on my list here.
1. The top of the hill at the end of the road. This is where most people park to hike Tumacacori.
2. A really long crack down the cliffs to the canyon. It just looks like some fun rock hopping AND is probably in the shade 24 hours a day.
Started at the end of the road and headed West and slightly up.
Passed by the two caves with a passageway between them.--Check out log on March 13 for more on this)
Kept heading West looking for mining activity. There are places that look like there was mining activity but nothing definite.
Lots of fun rock hopping here.
Made it to the monolith, Pic include.
And all over the place.
Lots of small crevices and wind erosion.
Distance was a little over 2 miles but spent a lot of time exploring.

Headed down Rock Corral road to find shade and a place to rest and east.
AND
Found the rock corral. I thought that it was the camping place that has a very small rock wall.
I have driven past the corral every time I’ve gone down there and not realized it. It’s huge.
There are some other interesting features in the immediate area also.
All in all, a good day.
Ended up driving down the road looking for afternoon shade.
Dinner by fire and star gazing before heading home. |
