Early morning start at 6:30am from Brown's Ranch TH in Scottsdale. Started on the main Brown's Ranch Road Trail through the desert to the summit spur trail. Took about 40-45 minutes to reach the summit on Brown's Mt. Last 0.2 mile is uphill and scrambly in spots but nothing horrible. Great views all around from the summit. Saw a few hikers and mountain bikers after I started but that thinned out once I got off the main trail. Only two couples on the spur summit trail.

From there I headed back to Powerline Road #2 and east to the 118th St. trail. South to Latigo Trail and back to the TH. No one on the powerline road, a scattered few on Latigo.

Took a brief break at the TH and then went out to part of the Cone Mountain Trail. Saw plenty of lizards and a roadrunner. A few cactus, creosote and palo verde in bloom. No other exciting critters.
