I was hoping for a vivid sunrise and headed out to Canyon Lake to see if I could get some pictures of it. My little spot starts just past mile marker 208. I take the rough "road" up and around to a little tuff ridge. From there, it's a quick up and up to the next little ridge. The vantage from there gives a great view of the lake, Four Peaks, First Water Canyon and the 2811 Massif.

The colors started great, but quickly faded as the clouds were just a little too low along the horizon. The little ridge area has a pattern of little trails that move up and across it. There is a good view of the "lagoon" past the first bridge towards First Water Canyon.

Not much mileage or exercise, but it's always nice to see a sunrise. Lot of blooming saguaros out too.
