| no partners | | A quick exercise hike along Jacob's Trail, Treasure Loop and Prospector Trail. In spite of 90's temps, it was pretty nice out when I started out. I saw a few hikers out and about, but had the trails to myself for this little loop.
The area is still showing the scars from the fires from last year. It's also extremely dry out here as well. All of that wonderful brittlebush that was blooming the past few years is all dried up. Conditions are ripe for more fires, unfortunately. Let's hope we get some monsoon rains this year.
It's been a while since I have gone up the Prospector Trail, I have forgotten how nice it is (and steeper than I remember too...ha ha). I ran out of sunlight to make it up and over towards the Praying Hands, so I opted to just head down the Treasure Loop to get back to my truck parked at the 2nd mini-lot off First Water Rd.
A nice little sunset and a hike back in the twilight. Not many critters stirring. |
