The first couple miles are in an open canyon, then it tightens up and the fun begins. Hiked down a couple of miles to Wire Pass and took that out the TH. Hitched a ride in the back of a truck the remaining 6 miles back to the start. We then headed down to White Pocket to setup camp however, 50 mph winds had something to say about putting up a tent. We were finally able to find a campsite with some nice trees that protected us from the wind. Hiked over to White Pocket and watched the sun set. The next morning we hiked back over to White Pocket again and had the entire place to ourselves for a good hour. Packed up camp and headed home making a quick stop at the dinosaur tracks in Tuba City. |
