| no partners | | I thought a walk around on Black Mesa might be fun: no mud on the drive if I used the redneck Richinbar Windmill exit from I-17. And if I remembered right that it had burned, and guessed right that it had not grown back, it'd be easy walking and easy to see stuff.
I lucked out and was right about the mesa conditions. All the cows were huddling in the vicinity of the windmill and corral ruin which makes me think they've been relying on rancher support. But I noticed by the end of the day they had scattered a bit and were nibbling on green shoots popping up thanks to the rain.
The bare ground allowed me to notice a couple one rooms ruins I hadn't seen before on my way to the mesa edge. At the edge I visited some spots I'd been to before: the ruins' "extent" were more obvious this visit with much of the overgrowth gone. On the return I walked some new ground and passed a few areas with some pottery and possible grinding slicks but nothing completely convincing. |
