| partners | | I had never done the Weavers Needle Crosscut Trail before and Joe fashioned a route that got us there.
Weather was perfect and the sun and clouds made the Supes extra specially nice.
We did a First Water TH Second Water Trail Black Mesa Trail Peralta Trail Weaver's Needle Crosscut Terrapin Dutchman Trail, figure 8.
Secondwater Trail was a nice rollercoaster up to Black Mesa Trail with the sun rising.
We passed 2 camps on Black Mesa Trail that had no Eggs and Bacon to offer us.
I'd forgotten how nice the climb is from The Dutchman Trail up the Peralta Trail really is. I really enjoyed the scenery here. We were on it 2.5 miles until we hit the cairns for the Weavers Cross Cut Trail. This is not a real trail, but a route. Following cairns and having a GPS track, you should have no problems what-so-ever. This trail was the highlight of the hike for me. I can see some more off trail exploring in this area. Balanced rocks, tunnels, Hoodoos, and mossy areas were just some of the highlights. We had lunch close to the pass and then headed east.
The Terrapin Trail is not one of my favorites. The views are great, I just don't like the tread.
Back on the Dutchman we were in "horse to the barn" mode.
What a perfect day in the Supes!
