| no partners | | The goal of today's hike, was to look for the route up Temple Canyon, to the point I got stopped a couple of weeks ago from the top.
On the Pine Canyon Trail, I found the lightly used trail heading up the canyon. 50 yards in, the Boy Scouts red flags started showing up. Long pants should have been the set up today as I had to go slowly in spots trying to dodge the PI. The red flags were evident for a large portion of the route and when they weren't seen, it was typically due to fallen trees
There is quite a bit of bear scat in this canyon, including a fresh pile that was seen on the way down, that was not there on the way up.
The walls close in and the canyon gets more scenic the farther you get up it.
I got to the dryfall that stopped me coming from the top a couple of weeks ago. The chains and cable look to be in good shape. From up top, I didn't think I'd be doing this any time soon. From below, it looked quite doable and should be in the cards for a future hike
Back down the way I came and then bypassed the Pine Canyon for an off trail jaunt to the west of Pine Creek. |
