My oldest son Rob made it in from NC for Christmas. It worked out that were able to find some time to hook up with my other son Ben to get in a short hike. South Mountain and the Pima Canyon TH was the choice today. It was also the choice of quite a few others. We ended up parking 1/2 mile from the parking lot and TH.

As with most hikes, pick the route with elevation gain and get a mile from the TH and things thin out. We saw only a smattering of people until we got to the Tunnel/Fat Man area.

GREAT getting a hike in with my boys and the weather was perfect!
