| no partners | | Headed toward Bobby Tank from Toruno Tank today.
Parked on the North side of the tank and headed across the dam.
From there it was just a matter of making a beeline to the saddle.
Scouted a good route to Bobby Tank and could make out a road to the South of it.
This is most likely the road that was put in to make the tank.
I'm saving going to the tank for another day. Today I poked around some of he cliffs and found some cool rock formations.
Made a loop for the return trip and had lunch under a tree.
I'm not sure if I got buzzed my a moving swarm of bees or a drone but it was a freaky sound.
Felt nice to sit in the shade several times and not think about anything and just take in the solitude.

A gigantic bull was waiting at the tank between me and the truck. It didnt move so I skirted around the trees.
-
With plenty of daylight left I decided to check out Pena Blanca Canyon.
This turned out to be interesting too because a BP truck stopped about 20 yards away from where I was sitting in the shade.
The officer walked away for about 10 minutes and came back with 5 guys who had apparently hike in from the South.
A few minutes later a medic truck came by and everyone was loaded up and they left.

Had dinner by fire and met a nice couple with a 4 year old.
They were tent camping. This is a really nice place but it's also a major passageway for illegals.
I dont like camping and if I did i still wouldnt camp there.

Good day just to be out enjoying the sun and breeze. |
