I crossed Fesno Canyon and went a few hundred yards then parked in a wash.
The truck could have made it within a quarter mile of the tank but I wanted to move it.
There has been a lot of rain and the last time we went we were the first ones to cut the muddy road.
This must be a road building year when it comes to rain.
Every time I go back there its silted in a little more.
8:46 left the truck 78 degrees.
9:39 at the tank – found a spark plug on the road and a horseshoe once I left the road
10:46 – back at the truck. Yes! Exactly 2 hours. Crazy
Halfway out of the canyon I decided to tack on another half mile to the day and check out the cliffs above the balanced rock. This side hike is included in the time and distance of the earlier on today.
11:17 – headed to the cliffs. Vegetation was up to my waist.
11:34 back at the truck. No trail. Found a survey marker
Didn’t see a soul all day.
