| no partners | | We got tired of pulling briars and burrs out of our skin and socks so a short jaunt up a road NW of Peck Canyon to Split Tank.
The road is in really bad shape. Parts of it look like steps.
Old Blue was spinning even in 4wd.
Parked at the tank and walked because I heard that the tank had overflowed and was covering the road a little further on.
It muddy but not impassable.
Set a timer for 30 minutes and intended to stay on the road. This intent lasted for about 3/4 of a mile.
Allergies are out of control.
The road past the tank has some insanely steep parts and I think it was safer coming back off the road.
Went off road where it crossed a ridge because there looked like some old tailings. By the time we got that far off the road we decided to just beeline to the road at the bottom of the hill.
AND
found a cairn.
Three accomplishments today:
1. Got some exercise
2. Scouted for a future hike - Can't wait for this one. Back Side of Lion Mtn has cool cliffs
3. Found a cool rock |
